Hello, I'm SHADE.

Shade du Plessis is a multidisciplinary artist focusing on rubber upcycling. Initially creating alternative accessories​,​ she now hosts workshops teaching others to transform waste inner tubes into useful items. Her passion for sustainability stems from an environmentally conscious upbringing. Shade studied Theatre Design at London’s BRIT School and The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama before relocating to Berlin. Working at a bike shop sparked her rubber upcycling journey. Her brand​,​ SHADE​,​ centers on crafting upcycled clothing​,​ accessories​,​ and miniatures like dollhouses​,​ all inspired by discarded materials and her commitment to addressing the climate crisis.
