Hello, I'm Berfusra '.
Berfusra is a Kurdish singer-songwriter, poet, drag king, and performance artist from Turkey, currently based in Berlin, Germany. With a background in English Literature and a master’s degree in Cultural Studies and American Literature underway, Berfusra brings academic rigor and emotional depth into their practice. As a genderfluid artist, their work explores identity politics through a powerful blend of live vocals, movement, theatrical performance, and poetry. Rooted in radical vulnerability and storytelling, Berfusra’s performances address themes of race, immigration, queerness, womanhood, gender, class, love, loss, longing, desire, and complex trauma. Drawing on their own lived experiences, they create spaces where openness becomes both a tool for survival and a catalyst for connection. Since relocating to Germany in 2023, Berfusra has performed across multiple mediums and stages, including SO36, Festsaal Kreuzberg, Ballhaus Prinzenallee, Volksbühne, and Aeden. They have been featured in events and festivals such as Proud Haram Festival (2024, 2025), Garbicz Festival (2024), Gayhane (2025), and Blade Festival (2025), and have taken part in projects like König Drag Show (2023) and Dyke High: Magic Dyke* (2025). Through a deeply personal yet politically charged artistic lens, Berfusra continues to challenge boundaries, celebrate fluidity, and give voice to untold stories.
