In this immersive mixed-media workshop, participants will explore a reimagined marbling technique using spray paint and water. After getting inspired by the traditional Turkish art of "ebru", I've experimented with various methods to create my own version, adding that onto other collage pieces, writing, and storytelling elements to bring a beautiful layer onto pieces in disarray. This fluid process becomes a poetic canvas for reflection and expression. Together, we’ll experiment with creating dreamy, abstract backdrops—then layer them with personal writing, poetry, stories, and acrylic gestures that give voice to themes of belonging, memory, or transformation. Through conversation, co-creation, and guided prompts, we’ll turn ephemeral movement into lasting mark-making. No previous experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a story you want to hold with care. If you are interested in adding collage pieces before the marbling layer, bring materials you want to layer (can be brochures, flight tickets, printed photographs or writings and so on), happy to also print and bring for you if there are digital images you want to incorporate on your pieces.
